Mr. White graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and specializing in construction management. Prior to receiving his degree, he was employed as a surveyor and construction inspector for the Illinois Department of Transportation. He was responsible for job layout, quality control and job tracking.
Upon graduation, he joined Wilco‑Centel Inc., a construction subsidiary of Centel Corporation, as an estimator. In 1984, he was promoted to Sales Engineer and put in charge of Wilco‑Centel’s estimating department. With estimators and engineers working for him, this department bid major construction projects for the company.
In September of 1984 he joined PirTano Construction. Over the past 34 years he has been responsible for the design, construction and activation of hundreds of miles of CATV rebuilds, upgrades, new builds, fiber and telephone projects. His department also specializes in the construction of fiber optic systems from WAN’s for municipalities to fiber systems for companies such as AT&T, Verizon, Zayo and many others. These projects range from complete fiber networks to extensions to existing systems.
Another area of expertise is the construction of street light and conduit systems for commercial properties. Additionally, systems analysis, design, prewire, postwire, O.S.P. construction, material management, splicing, and activation are all part of the services managed by Mr. White and his department.
