Doug has over 41 years of construction experience. After his time in the US Air Force Doug’s career started his construction career in home building before joining PirTano in 1988 as a laborer where he learned all aspects of cable construction and was moved up to Forman within months of joining the team.
Doug is a skilled heavy equipment operator with experience in running everything from a drill rig to an excavator. He uses his years of knowledge to teach and guide the younger generation of operators and laborers. He can run projects big and small with a focus on accuracy, safety and efficiency. Doug is often called upon to help with projects that require the skill and intuition of someone with experience to anticipate what might not be seen or guide and encourage operators to face new challenges.
Doug was promoted to Superintendent in 2024 due to his strong work ethic, knowledge base and years of experience. He currently spearheads large-scale projects involving multiple PirTano crews and subcontractors in Indiana. Under his no-nonsense approach PirTano has installed miles of fiber optic cable, helping to bring reliable services where they have not been before and better service to thousands of existing users.
